Spider-Man: Miles Morales was annnounced for the PlayStation 5 last Thursday to much surprise. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is the next game in the Spider-Man franchise that began in 2018. I wanted to share five things that I would like to see included in the game now that its been two years since Insomniac released Spider-Man.

Now, while some of these suggestions may be stretching and others may be safe, these are simply things that I think would be interesting items and systems to include in the game. None of these five items are confirmed to be included in the game.

So, without any further ado lets get into the five items:

1. The Map

While I am sure that the map in the game is going to, for the most part, be the same as the map from the previous game. I do hope that we may get some improvements to the map. Whether these improvements come in the form of making the streets and buildings more detailed or adding more streets to the city.

I also would not be opposed to them allowing for us to go across to other areas like New Jersey or other portions of the city that were not included in the previous game. These are more pipe dreams as I am sure that most likely we will just see enhancements to the city, but I would love to see an expanded city.

It is also worth noting that Insomniac has confirmed that the city will be snow covered, whether this is a constant or just for a portion of the game is still to be seen.

2. Powers working Like Gadgets

While I loved the gadgets in Spider-Man, it would be interesting to see at least some or all of the gadgets replaced with Miles powers like invisibility and electricity. Im excited to see exactly how the powers work. Whether they fill the role of gadgets, suit powers or if they will take on an entirely new form.

It will be exciting to see if there are more powers within the game than what we have seen. The idea of there being new gadgets within the game would also be a great way to change up the gameplay, should the powers be separate.

3. Outfits, Outfits, Outfits

This one is a no brainer and many are probably surprised that I have included this after Insomniac did such a great job including many different suits in the previous game. The truth is that I really just want to throw out two outfits that I would really like to see included in the game.

I’d love to see them include the two outfits from Into the Spider-verse, his normal suit and the one with jacket and shorts. I would love for the two suits to include effects that make them look similar to the effects used within the movie.

In addition I hope there are countless amazing suits within the game, these are just two that I really want to see realized in the game.

4. Story and Length

While Spider-Man: Miles Morales will most likely not be as long or complete as the 2018 Spider-Man, I do hope that the game has enough content to warrant being a standalone title. I hope that it is longer than a traditional spin off game and features a similar number of collectibles/skills that the previous game had.

While typically collectibles do not mean much to me in most games, I felt that the collectibles in the 2018 Spider-Man was a breath of fresh air. When you gathered the collectibles in the previous Spider-Man game you got a little insight into the previous adventures of Peter Parker from the items that were in his backpacks which were scattered around the city.

I think collectibles similar to these would help the player develop a better understanding of the Miles character. I hope that every piece of this game gets the proper attention to truly give Miles the story that he deserves. Who knows maybe the next Spider-Man game after this will even be Spider-Men.

5. Licensed Music

Into the Spider-verse was filled with great music that was used amazingly, from the start of the movie when Miles is getting ready for school listening to “Sunflower” by Post Malone and Swae Lee, to the end when Miles finally becomes Spider-Man set to “What’s Up Danger” by Blackway and Black Caviar.

The trailer already has me pumped with it including the song “On My Own” by Jaden feat. Kid Cudi. I am very happy that they used a song by Jaden as he was one of the artist featured in Into the Spider-verse. I am worried that the song was only licensed for the trailer and that they wont have music like this included within the actual game.

I truly hope that the Spider-Man: Miles Morales game can even be half as good as Spider-verse when it comes to including music within the game.

Well there it is, five things that I would like to see included in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Keep an eye on on my Medium page for more info on Spider-Man: Miles Morales as we get closer to the release.
